1926

A cable making company from Bratislava purchased a semi-finished building from a candy maker at the outskirts of Kolin. When finished in early 1927, it began to produce wiring pipes, boxes and accessories. However, the rapid growth of production was slowed down by the war. The product range had to be adapted to the needs of wartime – the plant produced winches and special equipment for the aviation industry.

 

1946

The factory was transformed into the new entity: Kablo Bratislava, owned by the state. After 3 years it split up to several companies. The wiring material production remained in Kolin.

 

1963

A new direction in the production of electrical installation material appeared. The wider usage of plastics significantly changed production. The development of plastics processing has suppressed the existing production of metal sheath pipes and began to produce trunkings, flexible pipes and boxes from plastic.

 

1969

Company extended its range of production and opened production of much desired enamelled Cu wire used in motors and transformers. This production was closed down in 1996.

 

1985

Kladno National Enterprise with production in Kolin, joined the ZSE Prague Group for several years.

 

1989

Another, and the most important change in the development came after the Velvet Revolution in 1989. In the following year the Kolin group became independent and a s.p. Kablo Kolin.

 

1994

Privatization of the state enterprise in 1994 under the name KOPOS Kablo Kolin s.r.o. A new dynamic phase of the production of the wiring material begins.

 

1996

Company name KOPOS KOLIN a.s. the transition to the joint stock company in 1996 remained a strong brand of quality to date.
Investments in the construction of own PVC granulate mixing plant and commencement of operation in the same year have started new possibilities of the technical and technological development of the company. These machines provide the sufficient quantity of high quality production materials in the mechanical area and color consistency. One of the most advanced is the technology for the production of corrugated pipes and injection molding machines for the production of two-component products.

 

1997

End of production of enamelled wires.
The Czech and world increasing market demands motivate us to expand our business to the other countries and has led the company to establish the first subsidiary in Europe and then overseas. Currently, they operate independently in 11 countries, including Slovakia, Ukraine, Russia, Belarus, Georgia, Poland, Hungary, Croatia, Romania, Germany and the Dominican Republic. The company also develops business activities and consolidates market position in other parts of the world such as France, Benelux, Sweden, Norway, Austria, the United Kingdom or the United Arab Emirates.

 

2005

The administrative & production hall built with a substantial investment of 10M EUR. The production double-wall parapet trunkings started.

 

2006

Transition to organic production.

 

2007

Neoklas Šardice with metal cable trays manufacturing acquired. The acquired technology has enhanced the quality and performance of cable management systems.

 

2009

Modern MARS and JUPITER cable tray systems launched.

 

2012

Production in Šardice closed down and technology transferred to Kolin.

 

2018

Construction of new modern warehouse.
