The minimal bend radius of wiring conduits KOPOS is expressed in millimetres and relates to the inner central axis of the tube (see the figure).

How high pressure can be used for blowing wires into HDPE protectors?
HDPE protectors for optical cables are tested under the pressure of 1.5 MPa for 2 hours. In practice, the pressure of 1 to 1.2 MPa is used for blowing in.

Which conditions must be met for installation of trunkings and trunking boxes on flammable substrates?
Cable trunkings KOPOS can be mounted on any substrate materials of flammability class A to C3. A condition, however, must be met that the cable led through the trunking is not joined, interrupted or clamped anywhere along the line.
Trunking boxes can be mounted directly on surfaces of flammability class A to C2. In case of installation on a material of flammability class C3, it is necessary to use a thermal-insulation pad under the box.

What is halogen-free material? What is the difference between halogen-free material and PVC?
Halogen-free material is a material that contains no halogen element (fluorine, chlorine, bromine, iodine, astatine). When burning, these elements liberate substances, which in the form of toxic fumes are dangerous for humans but also tend to corrode metals. Halogen-free plastics are safer in this respect and the products made of them are suitable in particular for spaces designated for gathering or as escape routes (public spaces, railway stations, theatres, cinemas, shopping centres etc.). PVC, or polyvinyl chloride, is not a halogen-free material because it contains chlorine.

What is the definition of flame retardancy?
Flame retardancy is a resistance against spreading flame, which is classified according to product groups (boxes, trunkings, tubes). It differs for individual groups and its exact definition is given in the respective standards. Generally we can say that a product or material is flame retardant, if the flame goes out within the time period specified in the standard after the source flame is taken away.

In what way the power lines and data networks in parapet conduits can be separated and shielded?
KOPOS offers the plastic divider PEKE 60, plastic divider with metal foil PKS 70/60 and shielding trunkings SK 40X20 and SK 40X33:
1) the divider PEKE 60 serves for dividing the inner space of wiring conduits and thus for easier handling of inserted cables and their transparent arrangement.
2) the divider with metal foil PKS 70/60 is a modification of the divider PEKE 60. Thanks to a thin layer of the metal foil, it has similar properties as a metal divider, but it is substantially lighter. Single dividers PKS 70/60 must be interconnected. For this purpose we offer the interconnecting cable PLSK.
3) the shielding trunkings SK 40X20 and SK 40X33 provide efficient shielding of the laid wiring and, similarly to dividers, for division of the inner space of parapet conduits.

How can different wirings be efficiently shielded?
The wiring can be efficiently shielded only by closing the wire into metal “sheath”. For this purpose we offer the shielding trunkings SK 40X20 and SK 40X33, which serve, similarly as dividers, for division of the inner space of parapet conduits and on top of that, they provide efficient shielding of the laid wiring. Single parts are linked with the interconnecting cable PLSK.

What are the possibilities for installing double sockets to trunking boxes?
There are several trunking systems in KOPOS assortment, to which double sockets can be mounted. They are LK 80X28 2ZK, LK 80X28 2R, LK 80X28 2ZT and the halogen-free LK 80X28 2ZKHF and LK 80X28 2ZTHF.
The trunking box LK 80X28 2R enables installation of two devices (e.g. single sockets) or installation of one device and the cover VLK 80/R with the terminal board. The box is suitable also for a double socket together with the terminal board and the cover VLK 80/2R. If the particular box enables installation of a double socket, it is indicated by the respective symbol in the catalogue.
